WIND IN THE WELLS

Image
Standing at the top of a deep gorge (at Spahats Falls, BC)with a thin waterfall escaping a crack in the cliff on the opposite side. You stand beside the trees that cling to the edge of the cliff. From their branches the moss hangs in long strings that are so light they sway in the wind created by the mini weather system in he gorge. Back and forth the sway like a slow and hula dance. Wind in the Wells, 16"x20" Acrylic on Canvas.  $210.00 To purchase p lease contact me here

A MOMENT IN THE WOODS

Image
No matter where you go in the city parks you will be greeted by these lovely little chickadees. They will follow you where ever you go in hopes of a handful of seed. I visited this little fellow on one of the coldest days of the year. He sang so sweetly to me and to call all his friends. I was only too happy to hold my hand to him as the big flakes of snow collected on my shoulders. What a delight! A Moment in the Woods, 11"x14" Acrylic on Canvas SOLD

PROUD MALLARD

Image
I know it's spring when I see all the ducks return to the ponds & rivers around town.  We were thrilled to see that our local Osprey are back in their nest.  There are Swainsons & Red Tailed Hawks taking up perches on any available post or tree.  The gophers are scampering around and taking turns on sentry duty. The grass is finally turning green again and we all pray that the snow is finally done for this year!  While out enjoying some fresh spring air I saw this little fellow in a park downtown Calgary.  He looked just so proud and handsome.  Puffing himself up for all the ladies to see.  He just seemed to sum up the springtime feeling.  (05-24-13) "Proud Mallard" 12"x 9" Acrylic on Canvas $75.00 CAD  To purchase p lease contact me here

SOAKING UP THE SUN

Image
My first attempt at a square canvas!  This little guy was sunning himself in my backyard on a bitter cold afternoon. His ears had started changing colour and a bit on his face. Seeing the bright sunshine on him and the snow sparkling around him was very inspiring and a real relief for my cabin fever.  Just had to paint him. Don't ya', just wanna' go skritch his ears? :o) (03-30-14) Soaking up the Sun, 12"x12" Acrylic on Canvas. $80.00 CAD To purchase p lease contact me here

DIAMOND DUST

Image
Diamond dust is what they call those tiny little crystals that float in the air when the temperatures go into the sub-zero temperatures. Those winter mornings you walk outside all bundled up and take that first big gulp of fresh air only to choke because it is just SO COLD! That's when you see it, tiny prism's floating around making everything look magical. One of my favourite things.
